I'm aware of at least one Maldivian with a Christian name who says he's Christian -- how does this square with the article's statement that all Maldivians are Sunni Muslims? Johnleemk | Talk 15:31, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

{{POV}} template

As an anon I thought I'd better not actually remove it, but this bit:

"Strict adherence to Islamic precepts and close community relationships have helped keep crime low and under control."

is certainly not NPOV. 86.132.142.221 04:46, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Rewritten

The article has been rewritten from a strictly scientific (ethnological and sociological) point of view ommitting the propagandistic overtones.

Conflicting information

In the first section of the article it says that the Maldives has one of the highest fertility rate in the world, but in the very next section it says that Maldives's TFR was 1.9, which means that the average women is having just under two children, no where near the highest fertility rates of the world.
