It is in Wikipedia policy to let you have a few more days before speedy deleting this if the author is objecting to it being deleted. J.J.Sagnella 22:28, 14 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Significant expansion of this article has occurred since I placed a speedy deletion tag. I have removed this tag since I feel it is no longer appropriate. Accurizer 14:10, 16 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
You say it's finished now? It's in a state still to put it nicely. J.J.Sagnella 15:08, 16 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
It still needs work but I don't think it should be speedily deleted now. Accurizer 16:39, 16 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
It will need more work or it coudl still get afd'd. J.J.Sagnella 17:37, 16 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
I considered proposing a merger of this article with University of Delaware but I concluded I'd leave it alone for a while and see if it is developed on its own. Accurizer 18:32, 16 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
And how long is this " a while" J.J.Sagnella 19:44, 16 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
On 14 February they asked for a few days; wait until 19 February? Accurizer 20:49, 16 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
Well I feel It's only fair to give them a whole week, so let's say we'll review if it is to be deleted on 21st February 2006? J.J.Sagnella 23:36, 16 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
Very reasonable. Accurizer 00:17, 17 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
Reviewed it, and if it can get categorised and/or get an image in it, it clearly gets to stay. J.J.Sagnella 16:31, 21 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
Yup, definitely deserves to be kept now. J.J.Sagnella 16:35, 22 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

more delaware pro players edit

Conway Hayman was a regular for the Houston Oilers back when they were a contender (late 70's early 80's).

Howard Cossell had to eat his words when Dennis Johnson was a rookie defensive end for the Washington Redskins in the 70's. Howard, during a Monday night broadcast, said that since DJ was a rookie from a small college they would run all over him. A few plays later Howard said he was wrong. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vasa2 (talkcontribs) 02:17, 24 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:YoUDee.gif edit

Image:YoUDee.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Why this sentence? edit

"UD football is more than just X's and O's on a chalkboard." - this doesn't really seem to add anything, and looks a little promotional too. 217.33.74.204 (talk) 11:15, 24 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Team name edit

Per the Delaware "brand style guide," (page 13) the formal team name is "Blue Hens," and informally "Fightin' Blue Hens." Should the Wikipedia articles be changed to reflect this? Eagles 24/7 (C) 05:07, 8 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

WP:UCN takes precedence over official names, so we should check what reliable sources use. ESPN uses "Fightin Blue Hens" and CBS Sports uses "Fightin' Blue Hens" and The NCAA uses "Fightin' Blue Hens". Since most news organizations use the "Fightin' Blue Hens", we should go with that here to. If that changes, we can change too, but until it does, we shouldn't. --Jayron32 05:14, 8 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Win-loss record inconsistent edit

The win-loss record in the infobox doesn't match the table at the bottom of the article. Which one is correct? GoingBatty (talk) 23:16, 7 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

@Superman7515: - Thanks for providing this reference and updating the infobox. The reference was causing a red error in the infobox, so I moved it to the External links instead. I also updated the Coaching History section. The Coaching History section is missing the pre-1938 records, so your reference will help us to populate it. Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 17:02, 12 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
No problem. I will try to help update the pre-1938 records over the weekend. Superman7515 (talk) 02:58, 13 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Anyone want to try to reconcile the win-loss records in this article with List of Delaware Fightin' Blue Hens football seasons? GoingBatty (talk) 14:41, 2 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

All-time record vs. CAA Football teams edit

Since the new "All-time record vs. CAA Football teams" section states that it is updated "as of the start of the 2014 season", shouldn't the table exclude 2014 and 2015 info? Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 23:21, 9 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
