This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because Deena Weinstein is an influential sociology scholar. The Chicago Sun-Times calls her book Heavy Metal: The Music and Its Culture the "definitive study of heavy metal culture that "does for metal what Greil Marcus's "Lipstick Traces" did for the Sex Pistols".OnBeyondZebrax (talk) 20:00, 20 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
I also contest any deletion. Weinstein has produced a number of noteworthy works. Several that are unrelated to heavy metal music aren't mentioned in this article, perhaps because they reflect earlier interests.
