"Automatic Lover"
editThe original text stated that Automatic Lover was a "futuristic song about a robot who falls in love with an intergalactic girl". This couldn't be farther from the song's lyrics and theme. Nobody falls in love with anyone in the song (quite the contrary!) - it is essentially a complaint about the way romance is gone and sex is provided by cold automatons or robots in a hypothetic future world (or universe). The lyrics already start: "Love in space and time / there's no more feeling". And further: "Longing to be touched / longing for a kiss / whisper words of love, tell me that you miss me" - along with the repeated emotionless, metallic voice of a robot saying "I... am... your automatic lover... automatic lover..."
So, I have replaced the above quoted text by "A futuristic song expressing frustration about a time when love and romance do not exist and sex is unsatisfactorily provided by specially programmed robots, ..." which I believe is closer to the actual theme and spirit of the song.
Also, I am Brazilian and old enough to remember Regina Shakti's impersonation and lip-syncing of Dee D. Jackson (or "D. Dee Jackson") on TV. Most Brazilians at the time were unaware that she was not the real singer. I was unable to find any references (other than the Portuguese-language Wikipedia article on Shakti) to corroborate that according to Wikipedia's rules, so the "citation needed" tag remains, but it is all true. Shakti has long retired from show business and now runs a Yoga retreat and ashram in the mountain resort of Campos do Jordão, near São Paulo. --UrsoBR (talk) 23:11, 26 August 2009 (UTC) -Did " the real " Dee D.Jackson and Regina Shakti ever actually meet ? Does anybody know ? --82.227.163.130 (talk) 23:10, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
