Original text edit

The original text section of this article appears to be incorrect, and clearly differs from the text in images of the document and monument.

It is also written in the modern Iranian Azerbaijani alphabet, based on a reformed orthography introduced by the Varliq magazine, rather than the one used historically in both Caucasian and Iranian Azerbaijan, making it impossible that it dates from the time of the original declaration. For example:

  • The letter "ڴ", as in "بویوک روسیه انقلابنڴ" in the original document, is replaced with "ین", as in "بؤیوک روسیا اینقیلابی‌نین".
  • The letters ؤ and ئ, are used for Ö and E. The letters do originally exist in the Arabic script, but are not used for the Ö and E sounds outside of the Varliq orthography, simply being forms of the Həmzə mark, and do not appear in the images of the original document either.
  • It is entirely phonetically transcribed, with every "I" being written with a "ی". This is contrary to the orthography of the period, which wrote loanwords in their original forms, regardless of pronunciation, and also differs from the original document.

Additionally, it has a number of clear spelling errors that are not in the original version. For example:

  • "آزربایجان" in place of "آذربایجان"
  • "وتنیه" in place of "وطنیه"
  • "روسیا" in place of "روسیه"
  • "بی" in place of "بک"

...among many more.

From what I can tell, the version in the original text section appears to be some kind of machine transliteration of the Latin Azerbaijani text, rather than the actual original text. Some of the mistakes in it are so obvious that I doubt someone literate in the Azerbaijani Arabic script could make them, including misspelling the word Azerbaijan (آذربایجان) itself, highly suggesting it was done by a program. This text originally appears to have originated from the Azerbaijani Wikipedia, which also suffers from it.

If it is acceptable to other editors, I will replace it with the original text. An ALA-LC transliteration to the Latin script would also be appropriate. Samiollah1357 (talk) 18:12, 19 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Has been done, but for some reason the text does not align to the right correctly when it is in in the columns.Samiollah1357 (talk) 05:14, 20 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
I have found and implemented a solution, and the text is now correctly aligned. Samiollah1357 (talk) 06:32, 12 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
