Talk:Declaration against interest

Latest comment: 1 year ago by Klbrain in topic Merger discussion

basic explanation edit

If you say something to the police, they can testify about it in court if it can help show that you committed a crime. However, if you said something to them which might show that you didn't commit a crime, you can't ask the police to repeat it in court, because that would be hearsay. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.192.200.202 (talk) 06:24, 31 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Merger discussion edit

Holding place for discussion about merging Statement against interest into this page as they're (AFAIK) the same legal concept. --Alexkozak (talk) 22:25, 8 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Support The pages don't seem to have much distinct information and seem to add confusion as they describe the same underlying concept (a particular hearsay exemption that both pages identify) 50.78.255.146 (talk) 20:54, 2 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
