Strong delete: Despite all the press it got, Linehan is just one person with an unremarkable past (in the historical sense) who has been convicted of murder. Are we going to search newspapers and documentary archives for similiar cases and profile them all? Despite being an admittedly widely reported trial, what is the significance? Neither the defendant nor the victim were famous or otherwise remarkable before the trial. There have been lots of high profile murder cases in Alaska and beyond. Don't delete this story. If one followed it from start to present, they could find a haunting similarity to the Madeline Smith story. Leppink spoke with several people indicating Mechele as a possible culprit to his impending death. He claimed to suspect impending doom, and was reportedly found with his life insurance on his person...who would do something like that???? Someone who orchestrated the whole thing perhaps? I don't think the public has heard the last of this story at all. More than one person suspects Mrs. Linehan as having been rail-roaded. Anchoragean (talk) 00:23, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
I personally think Mechele is innocent.
Don't delete this story. This isn't the average murder, if one delves into it, it's more complicated than most mystery novels. Obviously the public hasn't heard the last, since the conviction has been overturned. - By winning her appeal she returns to the state she was in just before her trail. Where she was arrested (and had been indicted by a grand jury) -- so to be released from jail she needs to meet certain conditions which include posting bail. 24.7.177.86 (talk) 00:49, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

Early life edit
Linehan was born in New Orleans but lived in other cities as a child.[1] Her father, a member of the United States Air Force, and her mother divorced.[1] Her mother remarried and then divorced Linehan's stepfather.[1] After the second divorce, Linehan and her mother returned to New Orleans.[1]
Linehan left home at age 16 and moved to New York City, where she worked at a modeling agency.[1] She subsequently worked at a deli in New Jersey owned by her boyfriend of the time.[1]
Later life edit
Linehan married medical student Colin Linehan in 1998, and settled in Olympia, Washington. She earned a Master of Public Administration degree from the Evergreen State College, and operated a laser clinic where Colin worked.[1]
