This article is a stub, so I plan to add information to the existing subsections, which each only include one sentence. They are "certification" and "name controversy." Additionally, I plan to add more content related to the death midwife's relation to hospice care and end of life care. As of now, the article hasn't been even vaguely researched, and the topic of a death midwife is treated more as the contrast to a doula or actual midwife in comparison to a stand-alone counselor. There are many untapped sources covering the rising popularity of this subject, for example: http://www.yesmagazine.org/inside-the-alternative-death-care-movement-20150807 https://mic.com/articles/132963/what-it-s-like-to-be-a-death-midwife#.hJ49dglmZ http://inelda.org/ https://www.seattletimes.com/nation-world/death-midwives-tap-a-growing-market/ (Iimph2017 (talk) 14:35, 24 October 2017 (UTC)) https://www.nytimes.com/2015/01/24/your-money/death-doulas-help-the-terminally-ill-and-their-families-cope.html (Iimph2017 (talk) 14:43, 31 October 2017 (UTC))Reply

Problems with Page

edit

Much of the tone of the article is casual and factually questionable (only certain professionals can file death certificate information). Laws regarding disposition and palliative care vary from state to state, and county to county. The article does not differentiate regulations and laws from different countries, and citations are for different countries and are haphazardly used (i.e. laws and regulations in Canada may not be applicable to US state statues governing. I removed one of the more poorly-sourced, factually unsupported section, but will still need much work.HoundofBaskersville (talk) 19:04, 23 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
