Cleanup, pov, references

edit

Many reference links are dead or point to unmaintained web sites. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aaronsjunk (talkcontribs) 02:04, 13 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

"were an influential improvisational comedy" By whose opinion? "the Dead Alewives were underappreciated during their active life, but the group's individual members have gone on to do great things since the group's breakup." Subjective, non-neutral, and highly opinionated. No references to the alleged "great things" or the amount of appreciation they got.

All of the facts need references. To official biographies, new stories, etc would be useful, otherwise everything here is just someone's opinion and completely unverifiable. --Crossmr 16:15, 16 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

I've attempted to remove the POV advertising language of the article. --InShaneee 21:47, 3 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Pretty good, this seems subjective: The Dead Alewives approached widespread recognition many times, but never seemed to enjoy the push that would launch them to national prominence.

I get what its trying to say, but again its not as objective as it should be. It sounds more like a snippet off the back of a biography. --Crossmr 22:41, 3 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I suppose, but couldn't think of a better way to word it. --InShaneee 06:06, 4 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Animation Utility?

edit

I remember that the original Summoner animation was actually a promo for an animation utility. It was to help sync the characters' mouths with recorded speech. The idea was that the cartoons would lip-sync to the Dead Alewives. Does anybody remember the name of the utility? I don't see a reference to it on the Volition Web site. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.111.197.98 (talk) 22:27, 15 January 2008 (UTC) Got it! The company was Lipsinc.com. That domain appears to have expired but you can find their stuff at Web.archive.org. The animation was first posted in 2001 at: http://www.lipsinc.com/qtmovies/summoner.htmlReply

Mad TV

edit

"Is a featured performer on MadTV" MadTV is no longer on. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.187.5.4 (talk) 18:33, 26 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

I fixed that one, but most of the article needs updating badly. --Orange Mike | Talk 20:17, 28 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
