Merger of Day length into Daytime (astronomy)

edit

Both articles are describing essentially the length of daylight on Earth. However, Daytime (astronmy) has the potential for extending to any planet, is more elaborate and has more articles linking to it. In combining both of them there will be more interwiki links, too.

– This article covers the primary meaning of the word "daytime", as ought to be obvious. All of the items listed at Daytime (disambiguation) use the word precisely in the sense discussed here. Moreover, the use of the "astronomy" disambiguator seems to have led editors to believe that this topic should be discussed purely from the perspective of astronomy, which has led to a poor article - compare night, which is much better. The article could be at day as well, but that seems slightly ambiguous; just dropping the disambiguator should suffice. 209.211.131.181 (talk) 16:21, 14 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
