@Gabara2: sources offer conflicting information. That does not make them unreliable. Jeremy Salt's The Unmaking of the Middle East: A History of Western Disorder in Arab Lands was published by the University of California Press. There is no reason to believe it is unreliable. I have reworded the section to reflect the disputed narrative. The skirmish does not need to be covered in depth. If you want to write an article about it, it can be covered in detail at that article. If you disagree with this, please discuss your thoughts here.
