More Details on Powers?

edit

Not much is said about what Maverick's actual powers are. At the very least, it should be explain what an "anti-healing factor" is.

Lost powers

edit

re 'During or slightly after this period, North inexplicably lost his kinetic absorption powers.'

I don't think it was ever confirmed but it was indicated that he lost his powers after a 10(ish) story fall in Berlin on his final mission with Sabretooth and Wolverine (Sabretooth and Wolverine being saved by their respective healing powers and Maverick by his ability to absorb kinetic energy) as they escaped from Omega Red with the "carbonadium synthesizer". This is told in flashback in a series of X-Men comics where Wolverine and the rest of the then 'Blue Team' were captured by 'The Hand' and 'Omega Red' along with Sabretooth. I'm not sure of the exact comics though so won't put the correction in....

Maverick says of the 10-story fall in X-Men #6: "It was years before we learned what Creed already suspected...that he and Logan shared an accelerated healing factor...while my mutant power to absorb kinetic impact barely saved me from that ten story drop."
Later, in X-Men #11, he states that he wishes he had his powers again during a fight with Warhawk. This is the first mention that he no longer has powers. One could theorize that perhaps what happened was early symptoms of the Legacy Virus, however, the storyline in which that disease stared, X-Cutioner's Song, occured after X-Men #11.
No writer has clarified when or how Maverick lost his powers, to my knowledge.

Fair use rationale for Image:Maverick1.jpg

Image:Maverick1.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

The image Image:WEAPON X 3.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Possible Seinfeld Reference

In the episode when Kramer's number is close to the MovieFone's, he mentions an Agent Zero movie. Could he be referring to the X-Men character? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Risico001 (talkcontribs) 03:07, 22 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

No. This character was known as Maverick at the time. "Agent Zero" is a recent (and lame) name for the character.
