Some Proposed Changes
editThis edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
Dear editors/Wikipedians,
My name is Randy Winogard and I am the Chief Operating Officer of Nazarian Enterprises and a representative for David Nazarian. I am writing to you because this Wikipedia page currently contains a number of inconsistencies and would benefit from additional updated information.
To do this, I am going to include changes and updates to be made with applicable citations.
In the right-hand margin Details section:
1) Add “USC” before Marshall School of Business to reflect the correct name of the school. -- (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USC_Marshall_School_of_Business)
In the Career section:
1) For accuracy, change the language that says, “He has also invested in wireless and broadband technology as well as clean energy" to say “He has also created venture funds that invested in wireless and broadband technology as well as clean energy." -- (https://csunshinetoday.csun.edu/university-news/csun-announces-naming-of-the-david-nazarian-college-of-business-and-economics/)
2) Nimes Capital purchased TD Food Group in 2012 from Brentwood Associates. In 2017, Nimes capital sold the company to Restaurant Brands New Zealand Limited for a reported $105 million. This should be reflected as:
“In 2012, Nimes Capital acquired TD Food Group, a fast food company which owns and operates Pizza Hut and Taco Bell restaurants in Hawaii, Guam and Saipan,[6] from Brentwood Associates.[7] Nimes sold the company to Restaurant Brands New Zealand in 2017 for a reported $105 million. -- (http://www.restaurantbrands.co.nz/news/articles/restaurant-brands-is-to-acquire-hawaiian-taco-bell/ // http://peakstonegroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Peakstone-Restaurant-Insights-January-2017.pdf )
3) Mr. Nazarian has grown his portfolio since this page has last been updated. Please include a line at the end of this section to say:
“Most recently, Mr. Nazarian has acquired a portfolio of mid-sized operating companies and real estate holdings focused on multi-family, student housing and hotel assets.” – (http://www.nimescapital.com/about-us.html )
In Philanthropy section:
1) Add “Leadership” to the David and Angella Nazarian Youth Program. The correct title of the program is the David and Angella Nazarian Youth Leadership Program. -- (https://www.chaischool.org/nazarian-fellowship /)
ADD Awards section:
1) David Nazarian and his wife Angella are recipients of the 2018 Ellis Island Medal of Honor which are awarded to “American citizens exemplify a life dedicated to community service. These are individuals who preserve and celebrate the history, traditions and values of their ancestry while exemplifying the values of the American way of life, and who are dedicated to creating a better world for us all.” -- (http://www.neco.org/medal-of-honor/2018-medalists // http://www.neco.org/medal-of-honor/criteria )
In Personal Life section:
1) After Angella Maddahi, replace “a non-fiction author” with “a former academic, non-fiction author, conference organizer and philanthropist.” to reflect Mrs. Nazarian’s accurate roles. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angella_Nazarian)

- ^ USC was placed in front of Marshall School of Business in the infobox.
- ^ "Venture funds" is an item which is collected, solicited for, stored or spent. Venture funds are not normally described as being "created", unless you mean the subject's investments causing his venture funds to increase, which the sentence already implies. Please advise if this is not correct or if there is a different configuration of the sentence you would like to propose.
- ^ The sentence as it is written is not precise. As these all seem to be examples of real estate, perhaps it might be better to describe them as real estate holdings. Please advise if this is acceptable.
- ^ Awards such as these can be based on highly subjective sets of criteria. Their descriptions can mislead readers as to their importance. Individuals who "preserve and celebrate the history, traditions and values of their ancestry" might easily be described through various types of activities, and having the article specifically laud the subject and his wife for it might be viewed by some as being overtly unctuous.
- ^ The subject of the article is Mr. Nazarian, not his wife.
