David Diamond quartets

edit

The allegedly complete Albany Records quartet cycle covers 10 quartets and the concerto for string quartet in four volumes - has the eleventh quartet been published, anyway? Schissel : bowl listen 17:09, July 15, 2005 (UTC)

The trivia added by 74.118.206.236 that Diamond was related to "side walk soldier Stanley Diamond" seems ... dubious? In one day, the same user added 16 edits on crime. I hate to even question it, but it just seems weird and random. No refs came up in a web search.

Personal life

Was he gay? Did he have a partner? There isn't anything, and I'd like to know, and like to think that others would too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.82.4.179 (talk) 00:41, 15 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Add to the list of major works

edit

I'd recommend adding the choral piece, This Sacred Ground, to the list of major works. It is a setting of Lincoln's Gettysburg address for orchestra, mixed chorus, children's chorus and bass soloist. It's magnificent. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 196.46.9.191 (talk) 14:23, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

For the list of complete works: has Diavid Diamond not written a Sonata for Flute and Piano, premiered by JP Rampal and John Ritter? The premier has been discussed in Rampal's autobiography (pp 108-109). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.229.187.118 (talk) 18:55, 2 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Leonard Bernstein relation

edit

In the Letters of Leonard Bernstein, edited by Nigel Simone, there are numerous letters between David Diamond and Leonard Bernstein. Their decades-long friendship ending in a furious pair of letters from LB after DD contributed to a tell-all biography of his more famous friend. 100.15.109.31 (talk) 23:48, 13 July 2024 (UTC) Marty Mangold (talk) 23:50, 13 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
