One source

edit

There's only one source cited. Those who have an interest in this man should add more sources. Thank you, Wordreader (talk) 04:25, 22 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

There is more than one source cited, but they seem to stem from the same original source. The individual in question is actually an ancestor of my daughter. I came across much heated debate over the background details as given in this article and in other places. Additionally, this individual has been called out as someone "researched" by Gustave Anjou. Anjou is notorious for creating fraudulent family trees. There is also zero proof that this David Crawford/Crafford came to Jamestown VA with his father, and this line of research is considered long disproved by the genealogical community. There is much material on familysearch.org, wikitree.com, etc. I'm leaving the article as it stands for now as I'm only now reaching into this particularly hairy pit. sugarfish (talk) 02:54, 25 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Term

edit

Crawford was elected in 1692 to serve out an existing term that began in 1691 for New Kent County after King and Queen County had been split from it and the sitting representatives went to that county. McIlwaine, H. R. Ed., Journals of the House of Burgesses of Virginia 1659/60–1693, Richmond, VA: Colonial Press, E. Waddey Co., 1915. OCLC 6389173. Retrieved February 11, 2014. pp. 18, 380. Therefore, he was elected for only one year, not two. His name does not appear on any list of burgesses that I have found for any year except 1692. I will revise the text and cite the Journal of the House of Burgesses. Donner60 (talk) 11:13, 11 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
