From to this dab page / article:

The South Devon Railway, which was reopened by Dart Valley Light Railway plc in 1969, ...

But according to our article Public limited company, the legal abbreviation plc was only introduced by the Companies Act of 1980. I suspect that in 1969, the Dart Valley Light Railway would have been a ltd rather than a plc. Anybody know for sure?. -- Chris j wood 10:23, 9 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
