Talk:Darryl McDaniels

his voice edit

why does he have such an odd, jittery voice? are there any articles about this?

He has some kind of disease, that causes him to talk like that, but I forgot the name of it.

Darryl McDaniels has a neurological voice condition called Spasmodic Dysphonia which causes his vocal cord to pull together when he speaks.

The article itself edit

This whole page seems to be a paraphrase of the VH-1 special about his adoption. Past the early days of Run-DMC and talking about his voice disorder, it's almost scene-by-scene. I visited the page while watching the special hoping for some more information on Darryl and... well, I wasn't exactly satisfied with the information here.

It does discuss the early days of Run-DMC and Darryl's involvement there, but then it skips to 1997 and then sounds like record company copy, or something. This is not, in any sense of the word, a reliable biography of Darryl McDaniels.

I rewrote the article. Hope everyone finds it satisfactory.

The details of DMC's depression and subsequent salvation via the song 'Angel' were also detailed in an interview with Steve Jones on Indie 103.1 fm, though the audio is no longer available for download. Why does it say he lives in LA? That info is false. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.3.30.0 (talk) 22:24, 16 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

St. John's University edit

Hello,

the article says that DMC enrolled at St. John's. The article about St. John's alumni lists him as an alumni which implies that he graduated. Does anybody know anything about that matter? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kontemarlos (talkcontribs) 17:16, 24 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
