I really like what has been done with this page. The content is just great! It seems unusual to find such great text so soon in the life of an article. --Timc 23:19, 29 May 2004 (UTC)Reply

I'm N huge NASCAR fan, y'all, but, isn't it Darlington International Raceway? I've always heard it calld DIR... Trekphiler Canada 08:26, 24 December 2005

Darlington Raceway is the correct name. If someone has a good picture, I think the article could use it. Mustang6172 21:38, 16 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

The original Darlington Stripe edit

The original configuration of Darlington was quite a bit narrower and the back and front straights were opposite where they are now. The wall at the entrance to Turn 3 (now Turn 1) it was especially narrow and the right rear corners of the cars would hit the wall and leave a multi-colored stripe of rubbed off paint, making THE Darlington Stripe. When the track was widened and the front and back straights swapped, the Darlington Stripe at the former Turn 3 entrance mostly went away. Then with the addition of the SAFER barrier, the track lost some width, making scraping the walls more common. Bizzybody (talk) 08:20, 14 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

As I recall, because of the high banks on the original track, someone found that the fastest way around the track was high on the turns instead of sticking to the inside as is the convention on other NASCAR tracks. As a result of this practice, many cars would come in contact with the wall. That's where the "Darlington Stripe" came from: brushing the wall with the side of the car body, not colliding with it. It was unique to Darlington, because the fastest way through the turns at other racetracks was to stay on the inside of the turn.TCav (talk) 01:11, 27 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

John C. Reilly listed as actor in Days of Thunder? edit

Why is John C. Reilly listed as a star alongside Tom Cruise in Days of Thunder when he wasn’t even in the movie? Did someone have him confused for Dennis Quaid? 2601:245:4500:110:F1BF:5361:AA4B:8C68 (talk) 20:56, 5 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
