No changing controls?

Hey I just want a bit of clarification. I know that it's probably way too early to ask, but is he referring to PC AND consoles or just consoles? The IGN article:

http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/04/11/dark-souls-director-pc-version-was-half-assed

This to me at least implies they may change the controls, especially since the controls (at least as far as I've heard) were a major complaint against the port. Again, I know it's early, but it may be something to keep in mind as time goes on. 71.205.138.49 (talk) 23:59, 29 April 2013 (UTC)

no "universal acclaim"

I'm not a fanboy, wtf? It was released on 11th of March to universal acclaim, metacritic states this as a solid truth. Whoever is messing with this addition, please stop. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Denisovich7 (talkcontribs) 19:36, 11 March 2014 (UTC)

PvP invasions

Does anyone know how these work? I know cracked red eye orbs are supposed to make it work, but I've never used one. Over 70 hours of play, I've not been invaded by a dark spirit ONCE. Do you have to invade someone before you can be invaded?144.183.224.2 (talk) 19:25, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

Contradiction in article

The introduction states that "Miyazaki stated there will be no direct connection between Dark Souls and Dark Souls II", but the plot section states that "The game's director has mentioned that the sequel is directly linked to its predecessor". Could someone clear this up? 108.29.80.79 (talk) 21:12, 19 February 2014 (UTC)

Miyazaki was not the director for Dark Souls 2. It is quite obvious that whatever plans he had for Dark Souls 2 plot were not shared by the actual game developers, considering the staggering amount of references to the first game in the sequel. To be honest the line about the games not being related should probably be removed alltogether, as it hardly matters what Miyazaki's plans were if he was not directly involved in the project(and I don't think "supervisor" cuts it - even assuming it was anything but a honorary title). 178.183.4.97 (talk) 11:51, 8 April 2014 (UTC)
I think both statements are true. There is no "direct" connection. Its not a prequel, sequel, interquel, or otherwise. No named characters are repeated (Orstein the Dragonslyare was a shade in DS1, Hollowed in DS2). It doesn't take place in the same land. All previous gods are dead. All the covenants are dead. Magic has been lost or rediscovered. Its like SW:KotOR and TOR. They take place in the same universe, but there's no plot linking it together. Its stuffed to the gills with references and homages, but thats not really the same.144.183.224.2 (talk) 19:29, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

The plot section.

It's a huge spoiler. The game's story from start to finish is described here. Does it matter? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.230.182.236 (talk) 05:38, 4 April 2014 (UTC)

No. Plot sections should include the entire plot. Cite sources, get bitches.

The plot section is also wrong. It says the game centers around a male traveler, this isn't true as the player can make a hero of any gender. The woman and child could be relatives other than the players wife and child such as Sister and niece / nephew . It all depends on the back story of the player made characters back story which only exist in said players head thus isn't canon. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nepht1979 (talkcontribs) 20:40, 24 April 2014 (UTC)

Minor error in article

Under external links, the link to metacritic leads to "http://www.metacritic.com/movie/http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/dark-souls-ii" which doesn't exist. I would fix it myself but I don't know much about editing articles and everything seems to be in order on the edit page anyway. Would somebody please take a look at this? 178.190.42.8 (talk) 05:23, 27 June 2014 (UTC)

Paired shields

I have seen gameplay videos of the first DarkSouls game depicting characters dual-wielding giant shields and using them to bash with and stuff. That's a very unique feature probably worth mentioning on the original article.

I would like to know if this tactic is possible in the second game too. If so, I think it would be worth mentioning here as a unique feature since I don't know of any other video games where you can dual-wield shields which makes it unique. Ranze (talk) 12:33, 15 October 2014 (UTC)

Japanese name transcribed wrong

The Japanese name, ダークソウル is transcribed as Dāku Sōru Tsū, missing an u for the ウ kana. Should be Dāku Sōuru Tsū. Edited. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Xenoph2 (talkcontribs) 06:26, 24 October 2016 (UTC)
