General editing and cleaning up

I did some minor rewrites and clean up. I'm not too knowledgable about the show so I didn't add or change information, just reworded it for clarity.--68.238.6.126 01:04, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

Milk

I remember that the transgenics had a weakness where they needed milk. did they ever resolve that issue or just dropped it?

I believe they just needed their pills, which they stopped focussing on. The milk was only used as a supplement if tablets were unavailable I believe?

ANSWER - they need tryptophan, which milk has

Richard Gunn information

The link on Richard Gunn is obviously wrong :) But i don't know how to correct it —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 207.134.187.9 (talkcontribs) 18:58, January 5, 2005 (UTC)

Spoiler warning necessary?

Do we really need the spoiler warning? What information is being spoiled? -LtNOWIS 00:44, 25 Jan 2005 (UTC)

I've been watching the series on DVD. Personally I feel, and this is out of the scope of wikipedia, that if there were a spoiler warning it belongs on the extra features at the end of season one because they give away information about the beginning of season two that is not completely obvious. I'm not sure if this is worth adding anything to the article, but I thought I'd throw in my two cents in the spirit of preventing spoilers. --Trakon 20:51, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Reasons for cancellation

As an "avid fan" I disagree with the opinion on its cancellation. It was cancelled because of low ratings because the second season sucked. It was a complete diversion from the first season in so many ways. (actors, soundtrack, mood and pace of the episodes, etc) -- Sy / (talk) 22:20, 6 Apr 2005 (UTC)

I agree. Season two was completely different. I remember the move to Fridays, I didn't like it, but I still watched, for a few weeks. Any night of the week, season two would have failed. Lord Bodak 13:27, 12 Apr 2005 (UTC)
I was wondering whether there was a NPOV way to say that after the first episode with Joshua, many longtime avid fans couldn't stand to watch another episode, no matter how good the first season was. (See jumped the shark.) Aumakua 06:01, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
Cite the source you're referring to which says this! Cheers --Pak21 09:18, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
Agreed. The second season was horrible, a complete departure from what had made the first season so popular. I don't know what they were trying to do. Perhaps target another type of audience, younger or something like that? Raystorm 15:15, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
I think that all of you are crazy. Season Two was fine. It took a really really different angle which made it so interesting, it drew me in so quickly. I hate the fact that they shut the show down, it was leading up to something that could have been really entertaining. The characters were still good, I mean okay Joshua was pretty annoying at first, but he got a lot better, and Alec was definitely one of the best characters on the show. They should bring the show back and pick it up from where it left off. Better late then never! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.243.116.24 (talkcontribs) 23:31, March 16, 2006 (UTC)
Sorry, but Season Two ruled. It is in fact, vastly better than Season 1. Season 1 was a series trying to get it's legs and find itself. Season Two was a series that had found it's niche and was going to use it for all it was worth. Add into the cast Jensen Ackles as Alec and the talented Ashley Scott as Asha and the series was taking flight. They added new challenges to make the Max/Logan relationship seem less boring and hum-drum and the ending showed that, if allowed to continue, it would have been one of the most unique shows on TV. We'll never know what they could have done if the series could have been finished. CureWhite
Now that the SciFi channel has taken up the series, perhaps they will turn it into another Stargate, a series droped from the Showtime network for low ratings.

I typed out the list from the DVDs. If someone wants to integrate this, go ahead.

Integrating an episode list could be used as a jump-off point to create articles for each episode, summarizing the plot; think of the way that TNG episodes are written up on WP. —Disavian (talk/contribs) 19:12, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

Reverted piece of info

What many fans also think lead to Dark Angels demise, is Josh Weadon's(creator of buffy the vampire slayer) show Firefly. When Josh Weadon's pilot for firefly was approved by fox, fox decided that they could not afford to make two very expensive sci-fi shows, so because of Josh Weadons success with Buffy the Vampire Slayer, they took a leap of faith and cancelled Dark Angel,in the hopes that Firefly would be as succesful as Buffy the Vampire Slayer series.

If this can be referenced/rephrased, it might go back... --Azertus 15:54, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

I didn't actually believe this at the time, but I've now found the link from which this information comes. --Azertus 16:12, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

Thula as a Key character?

I removed the following entry about Thula from the list of key characters since she only makes a brief appearance in the end of the series and IMHO the specific character doesn't contribute that much to the story: Jonas Viper 21:22, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

Bring it back!

Fox has a poll to bring back a show which is no longer airing and Dark Angel is one of the candidates. DA started off at around 5% but has risen significantly. It is now currently on 17%.....in short, get voting!!! although you have to register first which seems to take ages to load, it will be worth it if we bring this great show back.

While I'd love to see it, I don't think Jessica Alba would do it. They would have to recast the part. Morphh 23:42, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

Possible Influences

Is the Possible Influences section actually necessary? If so, the content surely comes under trivia, it doesn't need section to itself. Spaztic ming 03:20, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

As long as there is no source to the facts it should probably be considered original research, and even then it takes too much space in the article. If a source is provided a short list of titles only would be sufficient with more information either availible from the source or another article. Jonas Viper 04:22, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
I'm going to remove the entire section per WP:NOR. Even without that, I agree with BOTH of you that its too long and mostly nonsequitor anyway. I think we have consensus here. -- ShinmaWa(talk) 01:55, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

Bruno Anselmo in Iraq

I removed the following part about Bruno serving in the 2003 invasion of Iraq from the trivia section since there is no source supporting the fact, the invasion hadn't taken place when the episode was made and he would've been twelve or thirteen years old when the invasion occured. Jonas Viper 04:22, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

  • In the 2nd episode it is said that the character Bruno Anselmo "served in Iraq". According to the plot line Anselmo was born in 1990, for which he did not fight in the Gulf War, but in the US invasion that began in 2003... 3 years after the episode release in 2000.

Technical Specs

is anyone aware what kind of camera Dark Angel was shot with? I cannot find this information anywhere. --Windsok 03:47, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

Scheduling: "better than anything else that has aired Friday nights"

Is there a citation for this? As much as I'd be proud if it was true, I have my doubts. Thanks!

Max no longer needing tryptophan

When/where is this confirmed? Thanks.

Barcodes

I just readded Max's barcode number along with small mention that she actually has a barcode tattoo. The tattoos of the Manticore super-soldiers is recurring in the episodes, even more so than Max's last name. I did notice that the barcodes of many of the super-soldiers were removed, recently. As per the reason for their removal, they fall under a list of FAQ's, but not plot, lyrics, statistics, or news. The problem with the information, as described by wikipedia, is that a FAQ is a list of questions and answers. While not resting on questions, the list of barcodes is a list. If anyone desires to readd the remaining barcodes, they should be written as "neutral prose within the appropriate article." Rather, when a character is introduced in the article who has a barcode, mention they have one and type it out, keeping in mind wikipedia's encyclopedia and neutral prose writing style. See WP:NOT for more.

Furthermore, I suggest that the trivia section of the article should be rewritten as prose that is incorporated into the article. It also seems that someone has already flagged the article. --Trakon 21:19, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
