New redirect to Danske Bank parent company article

User:Cyprianio has redirected Danske Bank (Northern Ireland) to Danske Bank#Danske Bank (Northern Ireland), i.e. the main article about the Danske Bank parent company based in Copenhagen. I see no discussion, let alone consensus about this move - have I missed something? Anyway I don't think this is a good idea, mainly because seems to me a bit awkward trying to discuss the history of the former Northern Bank and the issue of Northern Ireland banknotes in an article about a bank in Copenhagen. Perhaps someone else could offer a view here? Cnbrb (talk) 16:23, 8 March 2015 (UTC)

Yes, I would agree it seems a stupid move. Considering that there is no Danske Bank (Northern Ireland) even in existence. The bank is Northern Bank Limited t/a Danske Bank. No Northern Ireland etc. I would suggest reverting the changes. --Gavin Lisburn (talk) 01:24, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
It is all a bit confusing! I am keeping an open mind and haven't weighed in to revert changes because, to be quite honest, I don't know enough about the subject. I do feel that there should be a separate article for whatever the NI entity is called. Could someone provide article text with a reliable source to clarify the actual status of the bank - if it is, as you say, legally Northern Bank Limited trading as Danske Bank, it should be clear in the article. I could put all this together with some research, but I'd really rather someone with more knowledge sorted this out! PS I have invited Cyprianio to discuss this recent edit - no response so far. Right, there has been no response from the user. He has had ample time to respond so I am reverting the redirect as it is too confusing.Cnbrb (talk) 11:09, 23 March 2015 (UTC)
