The result of the move request was: no consensus. There were two major questions at play here: (1) is the Doctors character the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for "Daniel Granger", and (2) is his name sufficiently different from Daniel L.D. Granger under WP:SMALLDETAILS. On both points, editors were divided, preventing a consensus from emerging in either direction. • Oppose. It should be (and is) a very, very high bar for a fictional character to take primary topic status when there is a real person by that name. Harry Potter is a rare exception. This is not. Having a different name is a really poor argument, as the politician's name clearly was Daniel Granger. Having initials in the middle does not make it a different name.   If needed, a "not to be confused with..." sentence can be used. I disagree with them not being different names - if they had the same name, the page for the politician would be simply "Daniel Granger", but it is not.   So,, if that's the case I'm sure you can explain to me why John Kennedy redirects to John F. Kennedy. Following your logic, John Kennedy wasn't his name! He was never called John Kennedy; he was always called John F. Kennedy or Jack Kennedy. But as I said, that's not how naming works on Wikipedia. -- Necrothesp (talk) 09:32, 20 June 2023 (UTC)

• WikiNav doesn't even render here, so the traffic is pretty low. https://pageviews.wmcloud.org/?project=en.wikipedia.org&platform=all-access&agent=user&redirects=0&start=2015-07&end=2023-05&pages=Daniel_Granger indicates that the topic is indeed past its heyday, so it's doubtful that there's a meaningful primary topic with such a niche topic. --Joy (talk) 17:09, 28 June 2023 (UTC)
