The Danger Run is an event that has existed for the last 16 years. It draws wide attention. It has patrons that visit the event from as far as the state of Washington. It has numerous articles published about it in Newspapers, magazines, and online sites such as About.com and Louisville.com. Their press release in 2009 was published as far as USAToday.com. It has been featured on a variety of local news channels on television as well as the radio. It is also being published in a National events listing book that will be released in September of this year. Lastly, it is the only event of its kind any where in the world. It is a well known event in this region and when mentioned outside the region many wonder what the Danger Run is. The purpose of Wikipedia is to inform people about a wide variety of legitimate information. If this were an event that was not unique like Halloween Horror Nights then I would completely agree that this information should be removed. However, like I said it is a one of a kind event that draws a tremendous amount of public attention. The Wikipedia page is intended to be purely informational with no sales information whatsoever. Just like an encyclopedia article, it is meant to inform what the Danger Run is. Not how much it costs, not where you can get tickets, no spam, strictly legitimate information. This is what Wikipedia is all about.

While I know Halloween Horror Nights is much more widely visited, the Wikipedia page for Halloween Horror Nights is no different than the Wikipedia page for Danger Run. In fact, I used the layout of the page to create this page.

I am a highly educated individual and I wouldn't try to publish this content if I didn't think it was relevant. Like you, I think it is important to uphold the integrity of your website. Thanks for your consideration.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Dangerrunguy (talkcontribs)

I would suggest, if this attraction has had articles published on legitimate news organizations' websites (that aren't just press releases; there are plenty of sites that will blithely post press releases from Joe Sixpack Enterprises and such) to post links to them in a References section at the end of this article. That would implicitly assert notability, and would also provide ammunition if this article ever made it to an WP:AfD after surviving being speedied. —BorgHunter (talk) 02:12, 7 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
