Theater section
editWith this edit, I reverted PhiladelphiaInjustice's removal of material from the Theater section. The section is about Gurira writing and starring in plays. The bit that PhiladelphiaInjustice removed is specifically about why Gurira began writing plays. I reverted PhiladelphiaInjustice because the piece is obviously significantly relevant and gives the topic of her writing context. How is Gurira's own words about why she began writing plays not significant to a section about her writing and starring in plays? PhiladelphiaInjustice reverted me, stating, "This fluff is not encyclopedic. This is not People Magazine: WP:NOT." I reverted again, making it clear that this is not a WP:NOT case in the least. As seen with this edit, another revert of mine, PhiladelphiaInjustice removed the material again, calling the information "non-encyclopedic" and "People Magazine"-ish again; he also and removed "and maintains an active lifestyle to keep physically fit" from the Personal life section. I don't much care about the "and maintains an active lifestyle to keep physically fit" part, since it is more akin to something one would find in People magazine (though one could argue that it's relevant since it's in the Personal life section, and Gurira's role of Michonne calls for her being physically fit). But I obviously do care about retaining her commentary on writing plays. I will alert WP:Biography and WP:Women (two WikiProjects this talk page is tagged with) to this matter for outside opinions, and WP:TV as well. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 21:40, 26 February 2016 (UTC)
Since no one has yet weighed in on this. I requested input via WP:Third opinion. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 23:11, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
- Unquestionable: Keep! Hey @Flyer22 Reborn: I support the inclusion of more information versus deleting information. This argument that this is not (a) encyclopedic and (b) People is something I've heard time and time again, ironically on pages that have women subjects. It's a lot of hooey and I support keeping the information. Don't let this editor bully you into caving here. They are in the wrong. The subject of this article is a multi-faceted talented and is doing incredible things in not one but multiple areas of the arts. All of this work is very visible, notable, important. Keep up the good fight. I support you! -- BrillLyle (talk) 23:15, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
- BrillLyle, I take it that you didn't come from WP:Third opinion? It seems you came from WP:Women and decided to comment after I left the above WP:Third opinion note. Either way, I appreciate you taking the time to comment. On a side, regarding this edit you made, pings only work with a new signature. But since this article/talk page is on my watchlist, there is no need to ping me here. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 23:23, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
- Flyer22 Reborn, If you look at the page history I've actively edited Danai Gurira's page and did a pretty thorough scrub to make sure the page was in good shape and representative of her work as a playwright. So I've been following the page since then. I don't really know or really want to get involved in some long drawn out admin discussion about the deletion of this content. I've worked on a lot of pages that have women subjects and subjects from diverse backgrounds and these arguments have been used to delete content. I was trying to support the effort to keep the information on the page as I agree that it is relevant and important. I don't really want to get into a big official thing about it but wanted to support the content because no one ever sticks up for me when this happens. -- BrillLyle (talk) 23:28, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
- I see. Thanks for explaining. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 23:30, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
- Do you think the "and maintains an active lifestyle to keep physically fit" part should stay too? Like I noted above, I don't much care about retaining that part. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 23:33, 2 March 2016 (UTC)

Walking Dead subsection
editSeems to me like the paragraph dedicated to Walking Dead could be merged seamlessly into the Film and Television subsection between the first and second paragraphs, since the first ends with mention of her 2010 - 2011 role in Treme and the second begins with her appearance in Mother of George that premiered in 2013. Spartan198 (talk) 13:27, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
- Spartan198, I agree, it should be. I've felt this way about all of the Walking Dead actor/actress articles that are formatted this way. Go ahead and merge. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 19:20, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
