In section Significance, we have a piped link "Names of God in Judaism" to "Name of God". However we have an article Names of God in Judaism. Would that be a better target? It was a bit of a WP:SURPRISE to me. Si Trew (talk) 09:23, 19 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

It seems confusing to me to say in the article that the pronunciation of the Hebrew letter ד varies with the dagesh. Some of the other pages talking about Hebrew pronunciation and alphabet contradict this one by saying it's always just /d/ and never /ð/. Off the top of my head, I the the /ð/ version was used in biblical Hebrew, and probably swims around in a few accents today, but it's just odd that there's not a consensus between pages.

This leads to a more important issue which is that there's not even one reference for this page. Most of the previous paragraph is literally just my opinion, which isn't what Wikipedia is really for, but right now this page is at the same level. I sort of wonder about the use or scope of these Semitic abjad pages in general because there are a surprising number of them with little or no references, or with long sections with no references. To me it makes more sense to put lot of this information in more expanded letter-by-letter sections of the "Hebrew Alphabet" and "Arabic Alphabet" articles. Those articles are pretty long already with a lot of tables that do a pretty good job of summarizing what in these abjad pages, but they might be a bit more organized as well if they followed (in part) a letter-by-letter approach.
