Fair use rationale for Image:REZ-DMZ.jpg edit

Image:REZ-DMZ.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Requested move 31 January 2018 edit

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: Moved. There's consensus to move this page and redirect the title. Aggregating the consensus reached; it is clear that "period/dot" is too subtle and not enough for disambiguating between universally known term (DeMilitarized Zone) and barely notable album. The new name of the album will also help the reader to readily understand where they're, thus further disambiguating it with DMZ (DMZ album) and those with closely similar names. D.M.Z.DMZ (Resurrection Band album) – Apart from the problem of notability, this album is no different from the better sourced DMZ (DMZ album), and D.M.Z. should redirect to DMZ. In ictu oculi (talk) 19:23, 31 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Note re. page history - the Christian music album was created 27 April 2006 at D.M.Z. (album) and (album) removed without discussion in 2008. The punk rock DMZ (DMZ album) was created in 2016. WP:NCM requires when two albums exist that the band name be shown (ARTIST album). In ictu oculi (talk) 09:46, 1 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose The title is D.M.Z., not DMZ so it already has built-in disambiguation. Hatnotes are all all that are required. Walter Görlitz (talk) 20:18, 31 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Yes but Walter the onus is on you to provide WP:RS evidence that this album is called "D.M.Z." and that none of the other D.M.Z. subjects ever use dots. Alternatively this album could just go straight to AfD which might be a better solution. In ictu oculi (talk)
No. The onus is on you to change it without discussion or explanation. Regardless: https://www.grrrrecords.com/rez-band-cds Walter Görlitz (talk) 23:33, 31 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Is that relevant? Amazon.com shows both albums as DMZ, likewise iTunes shows both albums as DMZ. Your link https://www.grrrrecords.com/ is not a reliable site, it is the self-published homepage of a band member (yes I realize that this album has no reliable sources, but all the same the homepage of a bandmember doesn't pass WP:RS third party source). So, no, sorry the default situation is described by WP:RS and WP:MOSTM, that if you want to prove that dots never occur with for example the Korean D.M.Z. you need to produce evidence. Come on, is the current title helping anyone - apart from sucking people looking for Korean peninsular articles into an unsourced album article? In ictu oculi (talk) 09:46, 1 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
That is not the homepage of a band member, it's the band's and recor label's official website. Amazon isn't always a reliable source. AllMusic has no entry for it. Another online Christian music source uses D_M_Z_ for technical reasons. The Encyclopedia of Contemporary Christian Music, which I didn't have access to yesterday, uses "D.M.Z." (p.752). Get over it. The title is D.M.Z. not DMZ and it's not in any way unclear except to you. Walter Görlitz (talk) 15:48, 1 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
And for the record, the editorial review, which is a reliable source, writes, "Originally released in 1982 on Light Records, D.M.Z." Walter Görlitz (talk) 15:50, 1 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
The point is more that the world doesn't revolve around American Christian music. In Asia do you think anyone has ever heard of this band and cares about that book or its . . . dots? In ictu oculi (talk) 20:02, 1 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
Oh. I thought the point was WP:COMMONNAME. I'll keep your point in mind though. Walter Görlitz (talk) 20:07, 1 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • Support- It is rather unclear whether the album is spelled "DMZ" or "D.M.Z.", or whether it is even notable enough for its own article. But regardless of spelling, the fact that "D.M.Z." should redirect to "DMZ" is incredibly obvious. I support this move.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 14:03, 1 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • Support move so that there can be a primary topic redirect from D.M.Z. to Demilitarized zone. Dekimasuよ! 07:13, 4 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • Delete as completely unsourced and lacking evidence of notability. Otherwise, support. Notice that the cover art has no dots. D.M.Z. should definitely redirect to Demilitarized zone. —BarrelProof (talk) 18:28, 5 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
The article remains completely unsourced, and it's been acknowledged that even Allmusic doesn't cover it. They cover everything. —BarrelProof (talk) 22:10, 5 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
Their coverage of the Christian music industry of the 80s is weak, and of Christian rock and metal, even worse. For instance, https://www.allmusic.com/artist/jerusalem-mn0000337978 is missing multiple English-language albums. But The Encyclopedia of Contemporary Christian Music deals with all of the entries, because the editor was attempting to be exhaustive. Multiple print sources reviewed this album. Not sure why AllMusic dropped the ball on this and several other albums from this band. Walter Görlitz (talk) 23:38, 5 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
