I propose that 6 Hours of Brno be merged into this article for that they appeared to be the same event judging by the event running and how it appear concurrent to the other appearing to be the same event with different names. Donnie Park (talk) 10:27, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
- Has there ever been a 6 Hours of Brno? None of the race distances depicted are six hours long. Personally I think better writing could fix this. Not sure merging a 1990s sports car race with a 1930s Grand Prix is helpful. --Falcadore (talk) 12:36, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
- The 70-80s touring car race had the same name, as did the 80-90s sportscar race, so therefore it wasn't all 1930s. Donnie Park (talk) 23:15, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
- My point stands, particularly about better writing. This is a great example of the limitations of tabling over writing. And the Six hour article still needs a rename. --Falcadore (talk) 01:17, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
- A quick peek at the article history jogs my memory - The 6 Hours of Brno was part of the initial 2012 Le Mans Series schedule before the event was cancelled when the LMS was cut in half. Hence when the article was created, the title was correct for the planned future race. The359 (Talk) 07:41, 23 June 2013 (UTC)
- I doubt highly that it will happen at this time, its now two seasons since. Donnie Park (talk) 15:46, 26 June 2013 (UTC)

- Oppose; the articles should be properly split between the old Grand Prix races and the newer endurance races. - The Bushranger One ping only 08:19, 23 June 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose this merger. In fact, we appear to need three articles; a Czechoslovakian Grand Prix article (which covers the traditional Grand Prix cars, from 1930 until 1949), the CSSR Grand Prix (which covers the touring cars, from 1976 until 1987) and an article with the endurance races in (not sure about the name, maybe 2.5 Hours of Brno? Regardless, this contains the 1988 race, and the 1997-2002 races.) After all, we do have 3 very distinct races here. Lukeno94 (tell Luke off here) 20:01, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
- Reply to both; in case you do not know your history of the country, reading through a bit of it, what you forget is that CSSR stands for Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, in turn was Czechoslovakia under the communist rules, hence why I oppose the split as it is the same country with communist branding. The endurance/sportscar race used that name in 1988, then when it reappeared in 1997, it was called Masaryk Grand Prix, like the 1930s races did. Lastly as Falcadore implies, when have there ever been a 6 hour race, so I say push ahead with the merge as it is the same event with different branding. Donnie Park (talk) 15:33, 26 June 2013 (UTC)
- It may be the same country, but it's a different name for a completely different type of race. There's simply no way these should be merged together - it's literally like merging the 1000km of Buenos Aires with the Argentine GP! Just because the name of one of the events is totally wrong doesn't mean this is a valid merger. Lukeno94 (tell Luke off here) 15:37, 26 June 2013 (UTC)
