Talk:Cynthia Radding

The article, as it stands, does not make a claim of notability. It lacks any emphasis on the significance of Radding's contributions to the field.Deb (talk) 12:01, 21 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

I have added passages from the peer reviewed articles highlighting her contributions to her field; I could keep going, but I think the point is demonstrated. That her work has received coverage in multiple, independent, secondary and reliable sources should be sufficient in itself to demonstrate notability per WP:GNG. WP:PROF also states that "Academics/professors meeting any one of the following conditions, as substantiated through reliable sources, are notable ... The person holds or has held a named chair appointment or distinguished professor appointment at a major institution of higher education and research". This person holds a Distinguished Chair, as the university's website attests; this is confirmed in, for instance, Juliana Barr and Edward Countryman (eds.), Contested Spaces of Early America (University of Pennsylvania Press, 2014), p. 410. Hopefully this clears up all the issues with the article now. —Noswall59 (talk) 12:59, 21 February 2018 (UTC).Reply
