'defending' champion
editIs Nicole Cooke the 'defending' champion? She is certainly the reigning champion, but surely we don't know she is the defending champion unless and until she is selected by British Cycling to defend her title.
For example, Manchester United were the reigning FA Cup winners in 2000, but since they didn't enter the 2000 edition, they were never the 'defending' champion.
Clearl, same applies to Samual Sanchez in the men's race.
In short, I think the correct phrase is probably "current" or "reigning" champion, until such time as that person is selected to compete in the same event in 2012.

- Agree. Corrected to reflect that. --Tone 21:13, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
pictures
editThe existing photo is great and should probably be more prominent, but if there is space for more photos, I took a photo which includes some of the support vehicles as well as some riders. - Sure, put it in.--Ymblanter (talk) 17:04, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
- The image you took is a bit crooked and small and blurry... The image I added earlier of the peleton also shows the support vehicles. Ðiliff «» (Talk) 19:56, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
- I agree, so I took it out. Due to the infoboxes, there isn't really room for more images until we write some more text to go around them! Qwfp (talk) 10:13, 30 July 2012 (UTC)

- I believed it means "same timing".Sni56996 (talk) 02:30, 30 July 2012 (UTC)
- "Same time", to be precise. Have added some text above table to explain. (adapted from corresponding article from 2008). Qwfp (talk) 10:14, 30 July 2012 (UTC)
