Possibly defunct

Curse LLC is possibly defunct at this time. When Fandom bought the media assets, the rest of the services were stated to be directly operated under Twitch Interactive. If so, Curse LLC ceased to exist at that time, at least as an operating entity. @IceWelder and Masem: Thoughts? I know you have your finger on the pulse on many video game company topics. -- ferret (talk) 17:15, 10 July 2020 (UTC)

Likely so. The press release from Curse says "The Curse Media team is joining Fandom", which is usuaĺly PRspeak for a merger or asset acquisition. In contrast, "X is now part of the Y family" is used frequently for subsidiary alignment. It also seems as though none of the press releases actually mention Curse LLC in this case, just "the Curse Media team". The corporate shell still exists and still uses the address of Amazon's HQ in Seattle (which is officially also Twitch's address), so its likely that Curse LLC never changed hands and Twitch was the one to phase out the name after the asset sale. This is OR, of course, but we can say with certainty that the name "Curse LLC" is gone. Maybe structuring the article away from the company and towards the "Curse" brand (with representation for Curse, Inc. / Curse LLC in its respective timeframe) is an amicable solution.
