Theatres/Theaters; Orchestras

Subsidised theatres (funding by towns or Länder): 150; non-subsidised theatres: ca. 280; professional orchestras (opera and/or symphonic): ca. 130; major theatre/opera/classical festivals: ca. 40; theatre venues without permanent ensemble: ca. 150; traveling theatre groups: ca. 100; ... and an unknown number of smaller theatre groups... (figures: www.buehnenverein.de). This concentration of theatrical and/or concert institutions is unique in the world (as is the number of subsidised art museums, by the way. Worth mentioning? 84.60.6.104 (talk) 21:15, 9 March 2010 (UTC)

Cuisine of Germany

Lol - this article is full of stereotypes about Germany - it is like saying that all Americans eat just Hamburgers, French Fries and Ketchup only... Citius Altius Fortius 15:05, 24 Jun 2005 (GMT)

I think all Culture of X articles are like this... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.99.208.67 (talk) February 11, 2006

Article is Too Sparse

There is so much more to the Culture of Germany. I think the author is suffering from too much modern German modesty. This article is far too limited.

You need to include German women--intellectuals, artists, philosophers, composers, etc. This reads as if women didn't exist.

Beethoven portrait

Hello, the portrait of Beethoven by Carl Jaeger that was on this page was painted long after Beethoven's death and (if we are judge by the portraits painted from life) doesn't look like him. For this reason, the Jaeger portrait is not generally used in Wikipedia articles about Beethoven. I've substituted a painted-from-life portrait. Opus33 15:32, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Poor article

Nothing about nationalism influenced culture of Germany(especially romantism era) and its ideas embraced in literature, music about Jews, Slavs and Poles. Which is an important element of any discussion about German culture considering XVIII, XIX and XX century in most books about the subject. Likewise Luther portait sits next to brief statement about Jewish religion, while nothing is mentioned about his claims that Jews are 'devil's people' and calls to burn their temples, and sanctioning even murder.--Molobo (talk) 17:42, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

oh, Gott, was für ein Trottel! Was hat das denn mit dem Artikel zu tun ??? Die Dummen sterben wohl nie aus... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.236.241.230 (talk) 16:04, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

What did you expect? Shoa-business as usual. *shrug* 212.23.103.107 (talk) 05:28, 24 February 2013 (UTC)

can be ok, if its little more clear — Preceding unsigned comment added by 103.246.49.58 (talk) 10:50, 31 May 2018 (UTC)

Religions In Germany

Roman Catholicism, one of Germany's two principle religions, traces its origins here to the eighth-century missionary work of Saint Boniface. In the next centuries, the Knights of the Teutonic Order spread German and Roman catholic influence by force of arms along the southern Baltic Coast. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.89.6.132 (talk) 20:49, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

Religon

From the article: '(the figures are known accurately because Germany imposes a church tax on those who disclose a religious affiliation, but there are many people, who are religious but not registered[citation needed]).' - that may be true, but it's more the other way around; many are registered, but not religious. Therefore I think this shouldn't be part of the article due to missing relevance. --78.53.156.92 (talk) 14:40, 6 December 2011 (UTC)

Do Nazism and Communism belong to the culture of Germany?

I believe they do, so the page should proportionally inform about them.Xx236 (talk) 11:33, 2 October 2018 (UTC)

Local cultures

What about ethnic division of Germany? The Oktoberfest and Carnival are local, mostly Catholic.Xx236 (talk) 11:43, 2 October 2018 (UTC)
