Needs clarification

edit

The article includes this statement:

Advertising, amateur photography, yellow journalism and an assortment of other forms of media arose after the politically charged 1960’s.

Obviously, advertising, amateur photography and yellow journalism are much older than the 1960s. I wonder if the point is rather that after the 1960s these subjects were for the first time subject to academic study. If so, this needs stating. Norvo (talk) 00:57, 11 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

The examples and perspective in this article deal primarily with USA and do not represent a worldwide view of the subject

The adjective "American" is all over the article. I don't feel I know enough about the subject as to be able to give it a worldwide view, and I don't think it's as easy as simply taking out "American" every time it comes out. I'm marking the article as not giving a worldwide view so someone with a better understanding of the subject can improve it. --gonzy (talk) 02:13, 22 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Who does this term belong to and who belongs to it? There is so much post-positivism, post-structuralism, cultural studies, identity politics, etc after 1970 and only a tiny fraction is mentioned here. Does the phrase refer to ALL of it, or is it the self-description of a few authors? The scope of the concept is difficult to make out. 76.118.180.76 (talk) 05:24, 25 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
