NPOV edit

This page has a problem with assuming that cross-cultural sensitivity - in particular its acceptance component - is a good thing (for instance, the UN quote and the statement that multiple cultures in a place indicate a need for cross-cultural sensitivity). Even if being aware of other cultures is a good thing (increase in knowledge), which seems inherent in Wikipedia's mission of increasing knowledge, acceptance is not a necessary part of this - one can consider another culture to have a problem (e.g. forced marriage, female genital mutilation or regarding certain children as witches and the way they are abused as a consequence) even when being aware of that culture (just as one can consider one's own culture to have a problem). I fixed the POV issues a bit, still a lot of work to do. "Cultural sensitivity" is considered to be loaded propaganda term, I will include material on this as soon as I find some references. I'm not sure it merits its own article anyway.Vort3x1337 (talk) 23:15, 23 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Photography edit

Why is photography of government buildings, monuments, etc being a criminal offense some places a cultural, not political/governmental matter? Allens (talk) 14:03, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

suggestions/dana edit

First and foremost, a better arrangement and structure would greatly help the article. Although there is a lot of material presented, there isn't a clear flow, which makes it difficult for readers to understand how the concepts are supposed to go. The article's readability and navigability would be improved by clearly labeling subsections or sections on subjects like "Models," "Working and Traveling Abroad," "In Healthcare," "In Therapy," and "Factors that affect cultural sensitivity." Additionally, by giving a brief overview of the importance of cultural sensitivity and how it affects many facets of contemporary life, the introduction might be made more interesting. This would draw the reader in and set the stage for the conversation that would follow. Furthermore, although the Bennett scale is discussed in the article as a useful model for comprehending intercultural sensitivity, it would be advantageous to provide readers with a brief summary of each of the six phases on the scale so they can better grasp the framework of the model.
