Changed order of article. Wikified. Deleted summarized definition of culture (not needed with linking). Stub template. Appropriate book reference. Appropriate category. Vassyana 18:26, 31 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Is the reference to wikipedia and Hayek really necessary? It feels slightly off topic since the article is on cultural learning while wikipedia is an area for abstract learning.Sss86 (talk) 17:31, 20 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

I agree that the Sunstein quote is really off the wall. Not to mention that Sunstein is a law professor with no particular expertise in this area and that the Washington Post is not only not a peer-reviewed journal, it's editorial standards are really quite lax.AnthroMimus (talk) 02:16, 11 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

This Ought to be a Major Article edit

This topic, albeit done in minimalist fashion here, has historically been a major topic in cultural and historical studies. However, much of the entries here are esoteric and obscure in their nature and create a band-aid presentation. Maybe someone could expand, develop and revise the topic so that it is elevated and presentable in a cohesive scheme of comprehension... Until then it will remain an obscure, obtuse and esoteric article on a major topic of human consideration and importance... Stevenmitchell (talk) 22:39, 13 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

  • I should add that there are currently 117,193 articles in JSTOR on "Cultural transmission," as a standalone topic... Stevenmitchell (talk) 12:13, 27 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Educational Assignment edit

Hi, I am a student working on the Wikipedia Initiative as part of a course assignment. I have been working on this article for some time and have edited and made changes accordingly. I have included a section on cultural learning biases and the cultural brain hypothesis, which is based on relevant, recent research, and I have also edited the overview slightly. All research is widely accessible through sources such as Google Scholar and is based on recent, reliable research from known academic journals. Hope this is sightful! — Preceding unsigned comment added by User2688916634 (talkcontribs)

I take no particular position on the merits of your new material, but in the course of adding it here you appear to have cut and pasted over the whole article, which broke several references and stripped formatting and links out of the article. I reverted for that reason. - MrOllie (talk) 01:29, 16 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
