Article Clean up.. edit

Only just recently noticed this article, and it is in a mess... Because much of it is based on content that i added to the individual articles, I'll look into giving this one some order and structure... Please bear with me as it may take some time... GremlinSA 08:53, 9 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Salt Water hoax in Nigeria.. edit

Siuenti has removed the section related to hoax cure takes more lives than the disease has. because at the time EVD had only taken 3 lives at the time.. [1] In fact EVD has claimed 8 total, and the article mentions that although unconfirmed, there are 8 deaths from the hoax cure.. How ever mentioning that the Hoax cure and EVD have the same death toll might be considered wp:or, which is why I originally added it as "by this time".. Perhaps a better writeup is needed, but this is an important part of the story, as it has much to do with the Natural Cure Culture of Africans, and how deadly some of these cures can be.. GremlinSA 09:38, 14 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

I don't have a problem with what it says now: " Further more the unconfirmed death toll of the hoax cure is as many as the EVD death toll for Nigeria, with 8 deaths each". I don't think it's OR or WP:SYNTH because you already have an RS comparing these numbers, it's just out of date. Siuenti (talk) 10:58, 14 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Siuenti.. I sat and tried to rewrite that piece several times without it looking like OR or SYNTH, i was also slightly concerned with the neutrality of it.. I still feel like it could be expressed better, but i'm not able to find the right way..(EDIT) I feel like the preceding sentence i wrote in there may skirt OR... Soccer in the general section.. edit

I've not yet gotten to redo the soccer para's in the general section.. I am still busy double checking a few of the ref's and looking for more related info before tackling that one... I will however try to do it tomorrow...GremlinSA 14:08, 15 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Complete rewrite of the soccer is done. It's not quite a master piece so please ce as you see needed.... GremlinSA 12:43, 26 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Inclusion Criteria.. edit

I suppose there has to be some inclusion criteria for each of the sections, so i'm gona be listing some of the criteria i've been using here...GremlinSA 10:48, 16 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Print edit

  • Non-fiction Articles need to specifically be about Ebola, and in Article format not News style. News reports, updates, and such do not qualify.
  • Fiction/Non-fiction books need to specifically mention either as been about or like Ebola.
  • The Author or Interviewee has to pass wiki notability. ie. No page for book/article, but wiki page on author and/or Interviewee.

Film edit

  • The film must specifically mention Ebola virus, or related RESTV/MARV or Viral hemorrhagic fever. It fails if the film depicts an Ebola like Virus, with similar Host species and symptoms but classes it outside of hemorrhagic fevers. ie. Contagion its called Meningoencephalitis virus (MEV-1), closer to HIV, Measles & Mumps..
  • There has to be a Wiki page about the film.

Music edit

  • Song must be about and mention Ebola.
  • Artist and/or Producer should pass wiki notability, (ie, Wiki page on artist/producer) exceptions are that the artist/producer may be Notable only in the local region, and may not pass wiki notability.

Broadcast edit

  • Must be non-fiction. Fiction should be listed under film.
  • Must have been broadcast on either Radio or TV.
  • Must be a broadcast developed because of Ebola. (ie. Sierra Leone's school by radio program started because of the School closures because of Ebola.) But a DJ simply talking/reporting about Ebola on his regular show does not qualify.
  • It is not simply a news report covering Ebola.

Other edit

  • Anything that has Reliable sourcing, will pass notability tests, and is centered on Ebola..

Ah, yes I see it was you and Starstr. Glad to see you didn't have the disruption the articles suffered last summer. Well done, both of you. SW3 5DL (talk) 17:04, 26 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Ebola (La La) parody song listing... edit

In trying to keep a NPOV on all entries, so this info is not in article yet, well until there's a RS for it, Rucka Rucka Ali is known for ethnic stereotyping, and recording almost racist lyrics.. The "Ebola la la" track is no exception, on every platform that I've seen it on many commentators are shouting Racist, even on the two refs that are with the entry. However until there's a independent article/critic commenting on How racist Rucka's Ebola la la track is it cannot be stated with the entry, Unless the comments count as a reliable part of the ref (which personally i feel they cant).. Or is there possibly a more general way of putting how many feel that this track is Racist.. GremlinSA 08:50, 20 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
