Energy edit

Where's the cryobot's energy source, especially to melt the ice? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.229.70.93 (talk) 15:38, 22 June 2011 (UTC) the bot carries cables, so it is reasonable to assume that it uses electrical power from the surface. testing so far (2012) edit

has this thing really been tested in antarctica? when i read the sources i come to the conclusion that it was never used in antarctica to date (february 2012) but only in spitzbergen (arctica). i guess someone might have mistaken arctis and antarctis. Ideas for bringing this page up to date edit

Stone Aerospace has been making very significant progress in the field of cryobots that this article doesn't bring any attention to at all. I would say that their most recent project, VALKYRIE, is definitely note worthy. I mean, it's a laser powered cryobot that has been given NASA funding and will be tested at Matanuska Glacier, Alaska in 2013. There's even a great wired article about it. I would update the wiki article, but I feel that someone else may be better suited for it as I'm not a very good writer. I don't know, maybe I will decide to make the edits... 23:09, 8 May 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.81.25.32 (talk)

I ended up making the edits. I added an entire section on project VALKYRIE, updated information on Lake Vostok, mentioned Enceladus, removed the space.com citation (broken), and made some changes to the wording of other parts of the history section. As I said, I don't view myself as a very good writer so feel free to edit the changes I've made. 04:33, 9 May 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.81.25.32 (talk)
