Clearly this article has been overtaken by a bunch of ignorant Kingdom of Loathing players unaware of this being a tiny tiny fragment of the useage of this word. The word crimbo is decades old for god's sake.

- Totally true. I heard of 'Crimbo' on British children's TV years and years before KoL existed. It's a standard (if irritating) UK term for a non-religious-specific Christmas. It may have gained some form of popularity from KoL, but this article's very misleading. Cai 22:58, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
- As a Kingdom of Loathing player, I can understand wanting to point it out. However, the stress should not be on its use within KoL. Out of curiosity I looked it up and was surprised to see that it was mostly about the Kingdom's useage of the word. Xym 00:57, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
- I know that on 1963: The Beatles Christmas Record (the one unlockable on The Beatles: Rock Band for the Wii), the word "Crimbo" is used at least once. It's at least 46 years old. -Karonaway 18:13, 25 December 2009 (UTC)
Suggestion edit
Looking at the history of this page, the article used to be just a redirect to Christmas. Perhaps, instead of stubbing this article and waiting for a knowledgeable contributor, it should be made to redirect once again since I am doubtful that there is more information than these few lines to be had. An appropriate (and short) note could be made on the Christmas article (if there isn't one there already). Xym 02:37, 6 January 2006 (UTC)

Expand, merge or redirect edit
This page is a mere dictionary definition (something which Wikipedia is not). It explains the meaning and origins of a slang term and provides some examples of usage of the term. I can't find any encyclopedic content on this page. Nothing here rises past what I would expect to read in a truly great unabridged dictionary. The definitions and usage discussions belong over in Wiktionary where folks with the right skills, interests and lexical tools can more easily sort out the meanings and origins.
Options to fix the page here include:
- Expand the page with encyclopedic content - that is, content that goes well beyond the merely lexical.
- Redirect the page to a more general page, perhaps after a merger to Christmas as was suggested a while back.
- Replace the current contents with a soft-redirect to Wiktionary (usually done using the {{wi}} template).
