The doll of Tryphaena
The doll of Tryphaena
  • ... that Crepereia Tryphaena's doll (pictured) had its own kit, comprising several jewels, a wooden casket, two silver mirrors and two tiny bone combs? General eligibility:

Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation

Image eligibility:

  • Freely licensed: No - The proposed image file "File:Crepereia Tryphaena-2.png" may still be copyrighted and may not be usable on Wikimedia Commons. The original Italian upload credits it to Alberto Bordi (still alive) and claims it is over 20 years old (PD in Italy) but no publication information is given to enable this claim to be verified.

A viable alternative would be to take a detail, perhaps the face?, from the 1889 illustration "File:Crepereia Tryphaena 2.jpg" which I have confirmed is out of copyright.

QPQ: Done.

Overall: Fascinating article, I enjoyed it very much. Only outstanding issue is use of the proposed image. Mary Mark Ockerbloom (talk) 01:00, 16 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Mary Mark Ockerbloom:, thank a lot for reviewing and copyediting, and glad that you enjoyed the article! I will ask the picture lab if they can crop the doll on the image that you propose, and when they are finished I will contact you! Cheers, Alex2006 (talk) 18:56, 16 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Mary Mark Ockerbloom:, doll cropped! Alex2006 (talk) 08:19, 18 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
With removal of the image with the unclear copyright status, and creation of an alternate DYK image from a valid photo in the article, I believe this is good to go. Mary Mark Ockerbloom (talk) 01:25, 19 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Translation?

edit

It seems that this article started out as a translation of the Italian version, it:Crepereia Tryphaena. Is that right? If so, where is the attribution to the original authors? Theramin (talk) 01:21, 2 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
