What the fuck is a creative director?
So far, there are a lot of words and no information whatsoever.
Definition
Can we have a description of what a creative director does/is responsible for in comparison to CEO, CTO, CFO's etc -- Mariocki 15:25, 15 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Hi,
Creative director's function is different than the kinds of CEO and such because he/she is not responsible for administrative functions of a company.
We need to further differentiate the category for the new and emerging fields such as media channel, Visual FX, CGI, Gaming, Web based solutions and entertainment etc.
These are all important to basically understand what the term 'creative director ' mean in each job specification ( danraz)
I've added a mention of Chief Creative Officer here because, from what I gather, it's a very similar position. Chief Creative Officer now redirects here too. --Mrwojo 00:33, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
I'm a CCO of my firm and I am not a director simply for advertising creatives. A CCO or creative director is a much more involved position in companies involved in media in particular and is primarily concerned with new product development and not advertising (which is the responsibility of a CMO). I weny ahead an put through a significant edit. I felt that the original article was very self-congratulatory and waffled on about the supposed issues of the advertising industry in a non-factual or indeed informational way, and instead pronounced much like a magazine upon what a creative director should be or what the whole field was about. It was deeply pretentious nonsense.
