Annoying for a different reason
In Ireland the company that supplies this sound has received numerous complaints from consumers. When you register to download the tone, you either did not get the tone or they continued to bill you with cryptic instructions to stop them billing you. Contradiction?
In the History section it says:
- In late-2005, Malmedahl's fellow Swede Erik Wernquist encountered the sound effect and was inspired to create the 3D animation "The Annoying Thing" to accompany it.
Yet in the first paragraph of the Ringtone section, it says:
- In 2004, the German-based Jamba! group (ultimately owned by VeriSign who then sold 51% of the group to Fox in 2006) licensed the animation and sound for distribution as a mobile phone ringtone.
How could Jamba licence the animation in 2004 if it hadn't been produced yet? It also creates contradictions with much of the controversy section for the same reason as I mentioned.
