Canadian example

Does any Canadian reader, or anyone else have more on the history of the third CLA.4? It does not appear in the Canadian register of Golden Years, though this may well be incomplete. I thought the undercarriage of the Edmonton one maybe looked slightly different in the pictures from the Cranwell built machines, which would be understandable given the collapse at Lympne. Also if plans were sold, by the Croydon School of Aviation (why?), were there any others built?TSRL (talk) 12:30, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

Thanks to those who have provided new material. We really need a ref for the fitting of a Thrush engine. Also a bit confused by the mention of "the other Thrush". What other Thrush? Is is that the Alberta Club sold two Thrush engines to Want rather than the "normal" Cherub?

Having stared at RuthAs's excellent photo, I can't see any difference between its undercarriage and that of G-EBPB, the first CLA.4 as pictured in Ord-Hume's book, p.312. One noticeable difference is the faired rear cockpit headrest of the Edmonton aircraft, lacking in 'PB.TSRL (talk) 09:21, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

In Jackson's British Civil Aircraft an image of G-EBPB shows a covered solid wheel where the spokes are not visible also see [1] MilborneOne (talk) 13:50, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
