Gender identity edit
The moment wikipedia began to embrace gender insanity instead of the facts, wikipedia became less of a reliable actual encyclopedia.
This is literally insane that people are being censored for editing this article to CORRECTLY refer to a woman as a woman because of her choice of a fashionable "label" instead of understanding that she is in fact a woman. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.11.55.112 (talk) 22:17, 24 January 2022 (UTC)
- It's literally insane? Not figuratively insane? How about metaphorically insane? :-)
- Stodden's status as a woman has not been "censored", nor has anything in the article. The issue I believe you're referring to is her gender identity, which has nothing to do with "fashion". Referring to subjects by aspects of gender identity that they have indicated is entirely reasonable, as it merely reflects common practices in society pertaining to non-binary individuals. - article says she uses "she/they". this makes no sense; they are both NOMINATIVE pronouns!

- you’re really gonna be a grammar dick about this? she/they is common shorthand for “she/her + they/them”, and you clearly already know that. why are you being intentionally obtuse just to invalidate someone’s identity? it doesn’t affect you at all. LeahAChase (talk) 17:28, 1 May 2023 (UTC)
- I hesitate to wade into this, but is there a hatnote template that can be placed on an article that uses the "singular they", to "warn" people who might otherwise see such use as a typo? (I did, until I saw that this person uses the singular they.) Jimw338 (talk) 21:08, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
- People that want to use "singular they" should create a whole new word because they is plural, not singular. It's too confusing and obtuse to have it be both singular and plural. 70.161.8.90 (talk) 11:52, 24 March 2024 (UTC)
