Talk:Council of Five Hundred

Number of members edit

Were there actually 500 members of this council? If not, the true number should be noted. If so, why does the graphic of the 1795 election show only 120 people (33+54+33)? — Lawrence King (talk) 00:59, 23 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

umm good spot! Didn't think of that when I pulled the graphics in! Mccapra (talk) 20:27, 23 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
A recent edit [1] changed this to 150 people (63+54+33), which matches the graphic. Meanwhile, the 1797 election remains at 177 people (28+44+105). Both are far short of 500. If the Council of Five Hundred had a variable number of seats, that should be explained -- along with its name! — Lawrence King (talk) 23:23, 21 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
