How funny- I remember peer reviewing this article! I look forward to reviewing it for GA as well. Liqudlucktalk 08:23, 24 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Links & Fair Use

  • Also add the page number, 70   Done Kekkomereq4 (talk) 7:51, 25 December 2009 (UTC)

Non prose elements

  • "The great rock discography" needs to be capitalized correctly and needs the URL and page number (280) added.   Done Kekkomereq4 (talk) 7:51, 25 December 2009 (UTC)

Assuming these comments receive a response, I'll address prose issues. Liqudlucktalk 08:46, 24 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Great. Now:

  • "No music video was made for the single." is unnecessary. Delete.   Done Kekkomereq4 (talk) 7:54, 25 December 2009 (UTC)
  • According to the great rock discography source, it was rereleased as the B-side to "Whenever You're Near". Mention this.  Done Kekkomereq4 (talk) 8:38, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
  • In the lead, you say reception was mixed, but all the reviews you have are positive. Fix the discrepancy.   Done Kekkomereq4 (talk) 7:54, 25 December 2009 (UTC)
  • Check to make sure that everything mentioned in the lead is mentioned (and cited!) in the body.   Done Kekkomereq4 (talk) 8:32, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
  • These facts either need to be cited or deleted:
  • "The photo was later used for the cover of the Love Hurts tourbook."   Done Kekkomereq4 (talk) 8:17, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
  • "The UK 12" single was the last released and got the LP transparent and the cover shows Cher shoulders with a long, smooth black wig."   Done Kekkomereq4 (talk) 7:53, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
  • "Cher wore the same suit and wig in the opening number of the tour, "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For"."   Done Kekkomereq4 (talk) 8:03, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
  • "The song also entered the German Singles Chart in late May 1992, spending seven weeks in the chart but peaking only at number seventy-five for one week." (could be sourced with cite #11)   Done Kekkomereq4 (talk) 7:57, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
  • "...and during Aspel and Company, and performed the song on her Love Hurts Tour."
  • I'm not sure that the song was performed during the LHT, because I've read that in a fansite.   Done Kekkomereq4 (talk) 8:10, 27 December 2009 (UTC)

This information is important and should not be deleted, but does need sources, which should be easy enough to find.

Later Cher cover the song and her version was produced by Peter Asher who had previously worked with Cher on her 1991 UK number one hit "The Shoop Shoop Song (It's in His Kiss)". The B-side of the first UK 7" single release was a duet with American singer-songwriter Richard Page, "One Small Step", while the B-side of the second UK 7" single was "Love and Understanding".

I'm alright with sourcing "was produced by Peter Asher" with cite #2 (Cher – "Could've Been You" / "One Small Step" (Geffen Records GES 19071)), but the fact that he worked on "The Shoop Shoop Song" and the second sentence both need citations. Good progress. I forgot to mention the hold deadline- Dec. 31. Liqudlucktalk 22:28, 25 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

New comments
Sorry about the wait! Please leave me a message on my talk page whenever you finish a set of comments or have questions, and I'll respond within a day. So, I've copy-edited the article a bit and have come up with a few more questions:

  • The Aspel and Company is only mentioned in the lead. Please add it to the body as well.   Done Kekkomereq4 (talk) 20:24, 3 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • Wiklink "UK Singles Chart" in the lead
  • The article mentions it was released twice as a 7". Is this common? Do you know why it was released twice?
  • This sentence uses poor grammar, please fix: "The UK 12" single was the last released and got the LP transparent and the cover shows Cher shoulders with a long, smooth black wig.".   Done Kekkomereq4 (talk) 20:33, 3 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Final comments

  • Since there are descriptions of each cover, you should probably add the caption, "UK 7" single cover of Cher's "Could've Been You" to the infobox image.   Done Kekkomereq4 (talk) 10:19, 4 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • "The photo was later reused..." Which photo- all of Cher, or just her legs?   Done Kekkomereq4 (talk) 9:59, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
  • Where did you find that "Window in the Wall" was Halligan's 2nd studio album? It isn't in the Billboard article.
  • Ok, I've see that is his debut album.   Done Kekkomereq4 (talk) 8:36, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

Result: Pass. Although a short article, the song is an older one and the information available on the internet has been put to good use in this article. While more weight is given to the Cher version, it was her version that charted and made the song notable. I encourage the sucessful nominator to review articles him/herself.
