Use of the blue and yellow version edit

I would like the article to reflect on the following questions:

  1. When the blue and yellow version of the national emblem of the Cossack hetmanate came into use;
  2. Whether this version was used by different hetmans, given that the Cossack hetmanate, shortly after its creation, was divided into several political structures, whose leaders were vassals of different powers: (Russian Empire, Ottoman Empire, Republic of the Two Nations and Kingdom of Sweden).

I remember that, according to William Pokhlyobkin, it was from the moment that Ivan Mazepa became an ally of King Charles XII of Sweden (Ivan_Mazepa#Change_of_sides) that he was granted the right to use the colors of the Swedish military flag (yellow and blue) as the insignia of the Cossack detachments led by Mazepa, which would later become the colors of the Ukrainian flag. (Сост. Candidate scientist William Pokhlyobkin . Словарь международной символики и эмблематики. М.: Междун. отношения. Изд. 3-е. 2001 г. ния № 12. Украинская символика ISBN 5-7133. -0869-3.)

So it seems obvious to me that:

  1. - Before that, the Cossack regiments did not use insignia in the colors blue and yellow;
  2. - After that, it is quite unlikely that Cossack leaders who fought against Sweden wore blue and yellow insignia.

I understand that this question may alter several information boxes that associate different Cossack leaders from different eras with the blue and yellow version of the national emblem.--Raimundo57br (talk) 03:06, 29 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
