Corsican versus Corse horse

No opinion about this question... there are very few publications in english about this breed, and I know only one mention of "Corsican horse" (Hendricks). --Tsaag Valren (talk) 16:15, 9 August 2014 (UTC)

Well, Tsaag Valren, it isn't too hard to find mentions of "Corsican horses" - in the sense of "horses on the island of Corsica". I've not been able to find any English-language mention whatsoever of the newly-recognised Corse breed. Hendricks's book was published before the breed was recognised and before the breed standard was drawn up, so whatever she is writing about, it isn't this. JLAN, FWIW, Tsaag and you might be able to do some solid collaboration here. Tsaag is a person who lives in France. If you go to the French article, you will see it is a featured article on fr.wiki and Tsaag is a major contributor to that article, and its creator. Tsaag also has been instrumental in helping Dana with the other French horse breed articles here. Given that "Corse" is the French word for "Corsica", it is clear that "Corse horse" is even more of a made-up name than "Corsican horse" which is at least an accurate translation of "Cheval Corse." (And we've had that debate about USEENGLISH before, I will only say that de.wiki calls its version "Korsisches Pony"). However, Tsaag prefers English speakers to do the writing in English, so given that you have some French as well, perhaps you two would be a good team. Montanabw^(talk) 07:08, 10 August 2014 (UTC)
