Cornelius Gallagher (Canadian politician)

Passing Early life and career.

Career in Edmonton

Personal life

  • Liberal-Conservative Association of Strathcona... I'm wondering if there's any insight into this organization? It sounds like the united government during one of the world wars, yet this is referenced to 1900.

References, Bibliography

  • Reference 22: "In the realm of women" doesn't have an author, so it doesn't seem to be a book, or a publication name, so it doesn't seem to be a newspaper. What is it? (The link is timing out on my system.)

I just have to note: I love the title "Musty Papers Recall Early Days of Board of Trade". Kinda ironic, considering the article itself is now over 100 years old.

Overall, a good high level look at Gallagher's life, solid sources. Kudos. -- Zanimum (talk) 13:43, 20 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Actually, I'm finding connection issues for all the University of Alberta links... https://toolserver.org/~dispenser/cgi-bin/webchecklinks.py?page=Cornelius_Gallagher_%28Canadian_politician%29#view:0.1.1.1.1.1 -- Zanimum (talk) 13:47, 20 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the review. Believe I've addressed the Career in Edmonton comments - thanks for noting the page for the Edmonton Hockey Club, I had no idea that it existed. Fixed ref 22 as well, it was indeed a newspaper (some interesting titles back then as you noted!). Though I believe the Liberal-Conservative Association was just some sort of political club during the time, I can look into it, though it may take some digging for some extra context. As for the connection issues, when I click the toolserver link, everything seems to be fine with no issues noted... that's really strange. Do the direct links to the UAlberta pages work? They seem to be okay for me at this time... – Connormah (talk) 16:07, 20 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
Re:Images - was able to add dates for both of the portraits. – Connormah (talk) 16:13, 20 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Cool, passing! -- Zanimum (talk) 20:53, 20 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
Would you rather he be in "Historical figures: politicians" or "Historical figures: other"? I presume politicians, based on the article title, but given his success in business, I thought I'd give you the option. -- Zanimum (talk) 20:56, 20 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
(For the record, I was able to get the UAlberta links to work, it must have just been service on their servers when I was clicking/CheckLinking. -- Zanimum (talk) 23:37, 20 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
