The controversies about building it edit

This page definitely needs some material on the controversy surrounding the process whereby the Opera House came to be. However, I am incapable of writing it, as I cannot achieve a NPOV on the subject. 82.211.249.10 10:18, 30 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

There are different controversies. First, the whole decision to accept a gift from a private company, offended some politicians. I have no ideas on the proportions of this issue. Then there was the discussion about how the building should be built. The architect had an idea, but Mærsk had the final word, so the architects original idea wasn't implemented fully. There were two significant changes known to the general public: an extra box on the roof and steel on the front instead of just glass. And then there's the discussion about the position: The position is great seen from the Opera, but seen from the marble church it could be better. However, most people will experience it from the Opera side of the water. There may be more issues - as there will always be on large construction projects for public use. Which of these issue issues do you think needs most improvement in the article? User:Dybdahl 09:27, December 25th 2005 (UTC)
I wasn't the one who asked, but having heard about the conflicts between the architect and Mærsk, I agree that it seems significant to mention the matter. In any case, Wikipedia should really have an article on Henning Larsen. u p p l a n d 10:43, 25 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Sources edit

I have written some of the text on this page, and now I see that it needs sources. My sources were tours in the building, which means that I cannot provide references to written material. However, the building is rather new, and I guess there are now books, or will soon be books about the building, and then we can cite these books as sources. It just requires that a wikipedia editor has the book... :-) Dybdahl (talk) 08:07, 9 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Terminology edit

This article confuses the physical facility (Københavns Operahus) with the Royal Danish Theater (Operand). Dangnad (talk) 00:03, 23 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

I just checked the article, but I don't know what you mean. Almost the whole story is about the Operahus and that's what it's meant to be. But you are welcomne to make adjustments if you want to, of course. Hartenhof (talk) 18:29, 24 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
My goodness Hartenhof here are the first two sentences of your article: "The Copenhagen Opera House (in Danish usually called Operaen, literally The opera) is the national opera house of Denmark, and among the most modern opera houses in the world. It is also one of the most expensive opera houses ever built with construction costs well over US$500 million".
Here's an example: The New York City opera company is called Metropolitan Opera which is a group of people. The singers of that opera perform in Carnegie Hall, the physical facility.--Dangnad (talk) 20:03, 24 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
