Inappropriate language and grammar

edit

The market, composed mostly of small traders in the foreground is an unplanned mess, the distant hills in the background are home to many of the affluent elite.

Besides being a run-on sentence, this seems to violate NPOV. "[A]n unplanned mess" is not objective or encyclopedic. If this sentence cannot be re-worked and re-worded to be (a) grammatically correct; and (b) factual, it should be removed.4.243.152.45 06:47, 27 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

An NPOV check has been done and the sentence removed (no reference cited). --Victor 22:48, 30 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Tnlogo.png

edit

Image:Tnlogo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Rebuild

edit

User 83.67.41.61 and me are the same. I forgot to sign in before attempting a bit of a rebuild. I have left all of the content as it was and only added minor details. I tried to re-arrange the sections to make it sound less like a tourist guide. I removed a section called "Places of Visit" and listed the places mentioned in the 'Tourism' sub-section of the 'Local Economy' section. If I had more time, I would re-write other aspects here, but this will do for now. If a more experienced writer would have a look at it, I would be grateful. Also I would be grateful if someone could have another go at rearranging the pictures. I started, but it is still far from perfect!Petkows 18:27, 25 September 2007 (UTC)petkowsReply

In need of editing

edit

I found this page via a list of typos, two of which I corrected. However, the entire article needs editing. I would do it, but it is very unclear what the original author's meaning was in a number of places, as I really know nothing about the topic of the article. Add more details and pictures.

edit

This page needs more details, information and pictures as well. If we could get more data about the railway station, that would be great. Also, the list of schools have been removed. We should discuss that, because some of these schools are quite famous. Images of the bus stand, clock tower, Sim's park etc would be great as well.

Education

edit

The education section needs to be rewritten. It does not speak of the newer institutions, nor about Providence College. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Adwaith s (talkcontribs) 17:04, 6 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
