I am from Melbourne I want to visit my son who is in custody at Cooma he hasn’t had a visit since being in custody ( 2 years) my query is can I visit him as I have a crn number, in Melbourne I would have to write a letter to the governor seeking his permission to visit my son ? 122.104.247.134 (talk) 06:21, 25 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia talk pages are only for discussing how to improve the article, not for general help, so please don't post questions like this in the future. See Help:Talk pages for more information about that. That being said, since you've already asked the question, I don't think it will be a problem for you. Firstly, our different prisons systems aren't exactly renowned for sharing information. More importantly though, last time I checked there's no restriction on visiting a NSW prisoner if you yourself have a MIN (our equivalent of a CRN). If you were currently on parole in NSW, you would only be allowed to have a box-visit when visiting a currently incarcerated person, but there's no need for permission to visit someone just because you have a MIN, let alone an equivalent from another state.
